Daily English-Chinese Bilingual Instruction
Students receive high-quality bilingual instructions daily. For English Language Arts (ELA), we use Wonders ®, an evidence-based ELA program to empower students to explore the world through literacy. Our ELA curriculum cultivates strong foundational skills for reading, writing, and speaking.
For two 40-minute sessions a day, students are immersed in Chinese Language Arts instruction, integrating the development of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in traditional Mandarin Chinese.
We utilize Level Learning ®, a data-driven, standards-based platform to measure students’ gradual mastery of Chinese in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Level Learning ® supports differentiated instruction for teachers to create, implement, and track student progress to ensure academic success.
Singapore Math
The Singapore Math method is a highly effective math curriculum and approach originally developed by Singapore’s Ministry of Education in the 1980s. The method has been widely adopted in various forms around the world over the last 25 years.
The Singapore Math method is focused on mastery, which is achieved through intentional sequencing of concepts and application, consistently leading students to top math rankings.
Units of Inquiry
We implement student-centered and inquiry-based learning techniques in the areas of Science and Social Studies, aligned with CA state standards.
This holistic, interdisciplinary approach capitalizes on the children’s natural curiosity and promotes student’s academic and personal growth.
Standardized Test Results
At TCES, our students take NWEA/MAP standardized assessments twice a year. We take immense pride in our exceptional standardized test results, consistently surpassing peer private schools in both English reading and Math.
